Peepal
One sacred fig tree. A little care, every day.
Plant your peepal π±
You get one tree. Give it a name. Each day, water it once, sit with it a while, and notice one true thing. Tended days help it grow from a seedling into an ancient tree.
Each tended day = $1 to Trees for the Future, about 3 real trees. Once a month, the Huxley Project gives the month's total. You can change this later.

About the sacred fig π³
Ficus religiosa, also called the sacred fig, peepal or Bodhi tree, is native to the Indian subcontinent and Indochina. Gautama Buddha is believed to have attained enlightenment beneath one, at what is now Bodh Gaya in India. Its heart-shaped leaves end in a distinctive long "drip tip". A branch of the original tree was rooted in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, in 288 BCE; known as Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, it is said to be the oldest living human-planted flowering plant in the world. The tree holds religious significance in Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism.
